Create a ‘Boo’tiful DIY Cork Pumpkin

diy-cork-pumpkin-paintDecorating for Halloween or Thanksgiving? With just a few supplies and about 30 minutes, you can make your own ‘boo’tiful DIY Cork Pumpkin. Follow the simple steps below and get crafting!

Materials:

  • 25 wine corks (Number varies based on size. Finished project with 25 wine corks measures approximately 5″H x 5″W x 1-3/4″D.)
  • Orange acrylic paint
  • Paint brush
  • Hot glue gun
  • Craft knife
  • Green felt, paper, or leaf foliage
  • Scissors
  • Jute twine

  1. Mix the orange acrylic paint with a small amount of water. Paint both ends of all wine corks except for one. The unpainted wine cork will serve as the stem. Let wine corks dry.
  2. Line up four corks next to each other and hot glue them together, side by side. This will serve as the bottom row.
  3. Line up five corks next to each other and hot glue them together side by side. Hot glue them to the row of four corks. This will serve as the second row.
  4. Line up six corks next to each other and hot glue them together side by side. Hot glue them to the row of five corks. This will serve as the third row.
  5. Line up five corks next to each other and hot glue them together side by side. Hot glue them to the row of six corks. This will serve as the fourth row.
  6. Line up four corks next to each other and hot glue them together side by side. Hot glue them to the row of five corks. This will serve as the fifth row.
  7. Take the one unpainted wine cork and cut off the top with a craft knife. Hot glue it to the top row as a stem.
  8. Cut the green felt, paper, or foliage into leaf shapes. Hot glue them around the stem.
